Hello, I have a question for you about the test at the district doctor. I am a foreigner living in the Czech Republic for 3 years. The risk of transmission was about 9 years ago. The doctor gave me a rapid hiv test yesterday as he didn't like my blood count and I confided in him about my risk. The test was an HIV insti self test and came out negative. He said I don't have HIV and that we would look elsewhere for the problem. I took the same test at home just to be sure and it was also negative. So does that really mean I don't have HIV? Thank you for your work, I wish there was a site like this in Italy.

Hello, with testing, the time when you take the tests from any potential risk is important. If you had a risky contact 9 years ago and the tests were done now, you can consider the results reliable. If in doubt further, you can take advantage of the testing, which is free and anonymous. You can find places where you can be tested further here HIV testování (hiv-testovani.cz).
